About this course
You will be a full or part-time teacher in an organisation providing post-compulsory education with a teaching commitment of at least 40 hours over the duration of the course. You should have achieved PTLLS and stage 1 Foundation (or equivalent) and be adequately qualified and experienced in the subject you wish to teach, to at least Level 3 or equivalent. You should have Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent or be willing to work towards these during the course. These are an essential requirement for the achievement of the final award of the PCET.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE COURSE?
You will be a full or part-time teacher in an organisation providing post-compulsory education with a teaching commitment of at least 40 hours over the duration of the course. You should have achieved PTLLS and stage 1 Foundation (or equivalent) and be adequately qualified and experienced in the subject you wish to teach, to at least Level 3 or equivalent. COURSE STRUCTURE AND CONTENT
The Stage 2 Intermediate develops the skills introduced at Stage 1 Foundation. It will enable you to:
Build a repertoire of approaches to reaching, learning, assessment and evaluation
Design, use and evaluate a range of learning resources
Embed adult numeracy and literacy in the teaching of your subject specialism
ASSESSMENT
A wide variety of assessment methods is used in each module including observation of your teaching practices.
Successfully completing Stage 1 and 2 qualifies you as an associate teacher with the award of Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS).
WHERE COULD THE COURSE LEAD?
You may progress to the final year (Stage 3) of the professional Certificate in Post-Compulsory Education/Post Graduate Certificate in Post-compulsory Education and Training (DTLLS).
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Course Fees: POA (this includes all tuition, registration and certification fees).
Funding is available from your Local Education Authority. Application form PN1 must be completed to secure this funding. Application packs are available from Client Services and the Student Support Centre.
