Entry Requirements
The course is intended for personnel working in electrical installation companies who have at least five years' experience and are competent in the process of the Inspection, Testing & Certification process in line with current Legislation. Candidates must already have C&G 2382-10 or C&G2382-20 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations). A pre-assessment is required prior to the course and this will involve a telephone interview.
Students not involved in installation work, or those without at least five years' of experience may consider enrolling on the Introductory Course for City & Guilds 2391. This gives an insight into the requirements of Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations 2391 course, and the suitablilty of the learner for the course - it does NOT prepare candidates for the course.
Suitable For
Electricians involved in commercial, industrial and domestic installations, where there is a requirement to carry out Inspection, Testing and Certification, in connection with their fields of competence. At least five years' of experience is needed.
Course Content
· Theory behind Inspection & Testing
· Practical Demonstrations
· Completion of the relevant IEE documentation
· Familiarisation with the use of Test Equipment
Method of Assessment
To successfully complete the course students must complete four practical assessments and a written examination lasting two and a half hours.
Progression
This is the highest level qualification offered by the College in this subject area. Students may, however, wish to look at the other specialist Engineering courses available.
