WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE COURSE
Everyone who works in this sector, both paid and unpaid may access this course.
Examples of placements/settings include: Day Care, Crèches, Schools, Pre School, Children's Centres, Sure Start, Hospitals, Extended Schools}

NB: A satisfactory (CRB) police check is required in order to complete this course.

NVQ's can also be delivered in the workplace with flexible start date responsive to employer needs - by arrangement with the childcare department.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND CONTENT
The Level 2 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) comprises of 6 mandatory and 1 optional unit and is primarily for candidates who work with children aged 0-16. It provides a qualification for competence against a varied range of responsibilities e.g. nursery assistant or crèche worker.

ASSESSMENT
This course is assessed by a variety of methods to include:

• Work based assessments
• Written questions
• Witness statements
• Dairy evidence
• Completed portfolio
• You may complete work electronically if you wish.

WHERE COULD THE COURSE LEAD?
After appropriate experience it may be possible to progress to Level 3 NVQ (CCLD).
