The aim of this two year programme is to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills to design build and maintain computer networks both LAN and WAN. Specifically in Module 3 students will learn about LAN switching and be introduced to wireless networks.
What will I learn?
This modulewill see students troubleshooting common network problems at Layers 1, 2, 3, and 7 using a layered model approach. Interpreting network diagrams and performing and verifying initial switch configuration tasks including remote access management. Configuring, verifying, and troubleshooting VLANs, interVLAN routing, VTP, trunking on Cisco switches, and RSTP operation. Managing IOS configuration files. Identifying the basic parameters to configure a wireless network and common implementation issues
How will I be assessed?
The curriculum is delivered through a combination of on-line exams and hands-on class assessments.
