What will I study?
The course consists of 4 units. The core units of Design & Sampling introduce you to mark making, colour theory and developing ideas so that you can take them forward into the drawing and painting work. The specialist units introduce the skills involved in drawing & painting: an understanding of form, tone, perspective etc. You will be encouraged to work with different media, techniques and approaches.
How will I be assessed?
You will be set projects to show your attainment of practical skills together with theoretical knowledge, which are internally assessed and externally moderated.
Career Opportunities & Progression
This course provides an opportunity to produce a portfolio of work for access to higher art & design courses or can support and complement an A level Art programme.
