Is it right for me?
People working in forestry or arboriculture who may occasionally have to deal with individual windblown trees will benefit from completion of this course.
What qualifications will I need?
Unit 30 ' Chainsaw maintenance.
Unit 31 ' Fell small trees.
Unit 32 ' Fell medium sized trees.
Students must be aged 16 or over on 1st September of the year in which the course starts. Tetanus protection is recommended.
What will I be learning about?
- Sever individual windblown trees
- Use winch to control root plate
- Take down leaning and half blown trees
What materials are required?
Writing materials. Personal protective clothing and equipment provided.
PLEASE NOTE: All students must bring a passport size photograph and their national insurance number on the first day of their course.

How will I be assessed?
By an external assessor on the final day of the course.
