Part Time CMI Award, Certificate and Diploma in First Line Management Level 3

Course Description:
The Level 3 qualification concentrates on the practical application of management theory and principles in the context of the developing first line manager, providing a foundation for continuing professional and personal development in management. Although many students will wish to commit to undertaking the full Diploma, the course structure enables people enrolling in September to select the Award or Certificate as a 'stand alone' option should they wish. Full details of the course structure and its delivery will be explained at the induction.

Content
The full Level 3 Diploma is made up of the following 7 units:

• 3001 Personal development as a first line manager
• 3002 Resource planning
• 3003 Meeting stakeholders needs
• 3004 Managing and communicating information
• 3005 Developing individuals and teams
• 3007 Maintaining quality standards
• 3008 Improving team performance

Students taking the Award only will study for unit 3001 only.
Students taking the Certificate only will study units 3001 and 3008.

Assessment and Progression:
The majority of units on the course will be assessed via written assignments which are set and assessed by the College, but other means of assessment, such as presentations, will also be used where appropriate. To help ensure that learning is as student focused as possible, various outcomes can be met through a range of activities and projects.

Progression
On successful completion of the Level 3 CMI Diploma in First Line Management, students wishing to continue their management studies may choose to progress onto the Level 5 CMI Diploma in Management and Leadership. Alternatively, those seeking a broader business qualification may prefer to consider the Level 5 BTEC Higher National Certificate in Business.
