About this course
CMI Diploma in First Line Management or equivalent, or managers working in a middle management role who want to develop their career in management. You will also need to join the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) for the duration of the programme. The membership fee for the Award in Leadership and Management is 87, paid direct to CMI.

The CMI Award in Leadership and Management is a nationally recognised qualification designed to enable middle managers to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to develop their career in management.
Description
At the end of the course delegates will be able to: Assess and plan for personal professional development Plan for the resources required for personal professional development Implement and evaluate the personal development plan Promote healthy and safe working practices. To be able to achieve the above objectives delegates will complete one module: 1.Personal development as a manager and leader However, to better suit the needs of their job role delegates can swap the above module with one of the following: Conducting a management project - 11.3.10 for 5 weeks Resource management - 29.4.10 for 5 weeks Information based decision making - 10.6.10 for 5 weeks Financial control - 15.7.10 for 5 weeks Managing recruitment and selection - 16.9.10 for 5 weeks Meeting stakeholder and quality needs - 21.10.10 for 5 weeks Marketing planning - 9.12.10 for 5 weeks Performance management - 27.1.11 for 5 weeks
Duration
One evening per week for 5 weeks. Other delivery options available on request.
Method of Study
Workshops with a mix of taught sessions and practical tasks. The formal assessment is one assignment of 2500 - 3000 words which will include a written report, personal development plan and integrated work activities.
