Course Description
The programme centres on the practical application of management theory and principles in the context of the developing middle manager, thus providing a foundation for continuing professional and personal development in management.
By completing this programme you will learn:

The course runs over 36 weeks - one afternoon and evening per week.

Key Features
This qualification is intended for middle managers that are able to demonstrate competence at the appropriate level in key areas that include managing activities, resources, people and information. This qualification is relevant to people who are responsible for:
- Allocating work to others
- Achieving results by using resources effectively
- Carrying out policy in a defined area of authority
- Controlling limited financial budgets
- Contributing to broader activities such as change programmes and recruitment
Students gain unlimited access to Europe's most comprehensive management information resource, the Management Information Centre (MIC).
Assessment
Attendance at a Friday and Saturday sequential is part of the programme. This is held normally in February/March.
There are seven units plus one overarching project.
The units are assessed using various methods:

- Work-based Evidence
Entry Requirements
- Acceptance onto the CMI Diploma in Leadership and Management is viainterview by a member of the CMI Programme team. It is expected that you will already hold a Level 3 or equivalent management qualification to commence on this programme or have work experience in a management role.
Progression Routes
Students can progress onto the MBA - subject to meeting entry requirements as specified by the University of Wales.
