Duration of basic counselling skills courses
Applicants can choose of two options (depending on availability of the option).
Option 1
The duration of the course is 10 weeks, one day a week, 3 hours per day between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. There is a fifteen-minute break approximately midway through the evening.
Option 2
The duration of the course is 5 weeks, one day a week, 6 hours per day between 10:00 and 4:30 with a lunchbreak and two fifteen-minute breaks.

The aim of our basic counselling skills courses is to give students a basic understanding of counselling and the skills required. The process will enable the student to develop their self-confidence, and self-esteem. Their listening and responding skills will become more effective. Their interpersonal communications and interpersonal relationships will improve.
By the end of the course the student will be able to demonstrate the basic skills required in a counselling process. They will have developed a range of appropriate listening and responding skills. They will become aware of their own behaviours and prejudices. They will have gained an understanding of the three core concepts - Respect, Empathy, Genuineness (Carl Rogers' Person-Centred Therapy).

Fee
Working full-time: £90.00
Working part-time and concessions: £65.00
There is a £25.00 enrolment fee. The remaining fee to be paid by Week 4 of the course.
