Content This is a 2 year course covering 6 units (18 credits) to gain a full certificate. This includes, Creative embroidery, Colour theory and Design and Design Project, Design Style, Beadwork and Fibres and threads. This academic year the units covered will be:- Creative embroidery OE a variety of techniques will be used including blackwork, quilting, Hardanger cutwork and free stitchery, and the students will be working with a selection of different fabrics and threads. Design Project OE this is a unit in which the student will look at texture, line, shape, form and pattern with some design work and lots of related stitch. Colour theory and design OE the theory will be supported with lots of exercises in paper, fabric and thread, exploring colour in exciting ways and featuring printing and colouring background fabrics ready to stitch.
