Alongside this course students will study for the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Health, Safety and Security and Employment Standards. If you have already achieved this qualification this will not be required however, you will need to provide evidence of achievement.

Part Time Diploma in Indian Head Massage
Course Description:
Indian head massage is applied to the head and neck areas to promote relaxation, relieve stress and muscle tension and to improve blood flow. As the treatment can be performed without the removal of clothes, it is commonly used on airlines, in offices and workplaces. The qualification is suited to those employed in the hair or beauty industry or complementary therapies.
Content
The programme of study consists of:-
- Applied Anatomy and Physiology - Health and safety, Professionalism and client care - Employment standards - Indian head massage
Theory and practice of Indian Head Massage, specifically History, Benefits, Affects, Aftercare, Chakras and use of oils.
All sessions are taught in salons equipped to a professional standard that provide services for the public.
You will be given the opportunity to attend trade shows and seminars, and become involved in competitions. Work placement is an integral part of the programme.
All students must comply with Lincoln College salon regulations regarding the wearing of appropriate dress in the Hair & Beauty salons. The dress code for beauty students is a grape tunic, trousers, headband and black shoes.
Supplier details and order forms for the uniform will be sent to students as part of the enrolment process.

This will be predominantly observed assessment with portfolio evidence. There will also be external multiple-choice tests.
