Course Duration:
The course duration is two years. Sessions take place on a weekly part time basis for the first year. The second year will adopt a blended learning approach whereby learners take part in E-Learning with some part time evening attendance.

Course Description
This course is part of the new initial teaching framework that will be implemented in September 2007 and will provide full qualified teacher status in the life long learning sector (QTLS). It is offered in partnership with the University of Warwick.
The programme includes a range of mandatory and optional units including the following:
Preparing to teaching in the life long learning sector
Planning and enabling learning and assessment
Enabling learning and assessment
Theories and principles for planning and enabling learning
Continuing personal and professional development
Curriculum design for inclusive practice
Wider professional practice


How is the Qualification Achieved ?
The qualification is achieved through a combination of formative and summative assignments and a minimum of 8 teaching practice observations.

On Successful Completion of this Course
You will be required to undertake 30 hours continual professional development annually and could access a range of top up courses such as Bachelors degree at local institutions for higher education.
