Course Overview Learn how to make sugarcraft and decorate cakes. Learners need to bring the following to the first class: cake to decorate, writing materials, cake box, 3" bigger than the cake, to transport cake home.

Qualification gained: This course does not lead to a formal qualification.

Course Content: The course will cover the health and safety aspects attached to the course and handling food. Learners will be taught about where to obtain the necessary tools needed - what they can buy and what they can borrow/hire. Learners will make sugarcraft from scratch, create shapes to decorate their cakes and produce a finished piece.

Work Experience: Learners do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.

Course Assessment: There is no formal assessment but learners will be monitored throughout the course by the lecturer.

Progression: Learners can progress to other cookery classes and cake making courses.

Homework: Learners will benefit by practising the skills learned in class at home

Additional Costs: Learners will be required to provide their own equipment and ingredients
