Content Beginners, those with a little knowledge and those who are advanced are welcome. This course will enable you to achieve a complete garment with confidence, using the very simple tasks that are required to produce any garment of good quality and fit. Tailoring tuition and pattern alteration to fit personal measurements will be given. You will learn awareness of fabric, how to use paper patterns, about style and fit, alterations of paper patterns to fit personal measurements, cutting out fabric and pressing. During the course you will discover how to fit collars, apply facings, set in sleeves, insert zips, attach waistband, attach buttons and work buttonholes, turn up hems and dispose of fullness through darts, gathers or tucks. Once enrolled the tutor will contact you to give advice and guidance on purchases for the course.
