Course Description
These qualifications were developed based on a framework developed by Skills for Care and the Valuing People Support Team, and they are aimed at all people working with individuals who have a learning disability. The intention for these qualifications is to benefit candidates by developing their skills and facilitating career progression and to benefit employers by providing certificated evidence that the employers have fulfilled their responsibility to provide learning to their workers that meet Common Induction Standards.

Course Structure
Learners must pass all units to achieve the Level 2 BTEC Award in Induction to Supporting People who have Learning Disabilities.

Unit 1 Principles of Learning Disability Support

Unit 2 The Role of a Learning Disability Worker

Unit 3 Health and Safety in a Learning Disability Service

Unit 4 Protecting People who have a Learning Disability

Course Entry requirements
