You are not required to have any formal qualifications. Classes are offered at different levels. With vocational programmes, the entry requirements are dependent on the chosen subject. The requirements will be discussed with the language centre staff.

COURSE SUMMARY
South Leicestershire college offers two distinct programmes of study at either our main Wigston site or our Market Harborough site.
- The English Language Programme (studying english language only). This is a full-time course of a minimum of 15.5 hours per week.
- The Vocational English Language Programme (studying English with a vocational course such as Business, IT, Travel and Tourism, Childcare, Secretarial Studies, along with a few others).
The money-back option only applies to EFL with IT
It is possible for learners to enrol for 1, 2 or 3 terms only. There are various classes at different levels. On arrival you will be tested and placed into an appropriate class.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Learners doing the vocational course must take a vocational qualification as part of the course, along with the Cambridge ESOL skills for life exam each term. Other Cambridge language exams are available such as the KET, PET, FCE, CAE,CPE,or BEC exams. There may also be IELTS Preparation classes available.
WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
The English language course consists of a minimum of 15.5 hours per week. You will need to attend college every weekday. To gain full benefit from the course, you should attend for three full terms (one academic year).
The courses run throughout the Academic year.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
On successful completion of the exams, you will achieve a certificate from the Cambridge exam board. You will also achieve City & Guilds IT qualifications and Skills for Life certificates. For further details please consult the brochure. EFL with IT learners will also achieve the NOCN Diploma for Progression (Level 2)
For Learners who successfully complete the Full EFL with IT course, We will return all course fees. Successful completion means passing Skills for Life exams (at any level) in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening as well as the NOCN Diploma for progression (Level 2).

2a710-09 Course fees 0 16-18 year olds, 612(199) 19 years and over
Course fees are payable on enrolment. Costs shown in brackets are for those on income-based benefits. Refunds are not normally available.
WHAT ADDITIONAL COSTS ARE THERE?
For learners with non-EU passports, the course fee is 4950 per year, payable termly.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTERWARDS?
Following successful completion of the course you may have the opportunity to continue into Higher Education (depending on the level achieved) or continue study in Further Education.
The Cambridge First Certificate (or above) is an internationally recognised qualification which will allow you to progress onto other courses of study.
