What you'll learn on the course
English as a Second Language (ESOL).
Location:Bromsgrove, Redditch and Community Venues
Qualification Level:Entry 1,2,and 3 - Level 1 &2
Courses usually last for one year.
ESOL courses are for speakers of other languages who want to improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Courses are offered at different levels from complete beginner to Level 2 (GCSE Level).
Classes are held in the daytime and evening.
Students learn English to help them with everyday activities such as shopping, going to the doctors and following instructions at work.
ESOL courses also cover Citizenship topics, for example Festivals and Celebrations in the UK, Health and Education.
How is the Qualification Achieved ?
Students work towards and Edexcel ESOL qualification. Examinations can be taken in reading, writing, speaking and listening at different levels.
On Successful Completion of this Course
You can study English at a higher level. Students who achieve a Level 1 ESOL qualification are able to move on to other Further Education courses. Advice and guidance will be available to students.
