    On The Actor Works

    Provider description
    The Actor Works exists to train working actors.

    We believe that a good actor is one who is:

    * Prepared for the reality of the business - the harsher aspects as well as the rewards
    * Able to work well as part of a company
    * Willing to try their hand at anything; acting work comes in all forms and sizes and there is reward to be gained from every opportunity.
    * Disciplined, focused and open to new ideas
    * Generous, thoughtful and considerate
    * Ready to work hard
    * Ready to enjoy his or her self. They're called plays, after all!

    We do not train people to be stars or celebrities. We see fame as an occupational hazard, not a goal.

    We teach that, even in this digital age, theatre has an important role in society. We train our actors to maintain a healthy respect for the theatre as an equal partner, alongside television, film and radio.

    Acting is for everyone and our training reflects this. We welcome students regardless of colour, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religious affiliation, physical ability or mental health issues.
