Who is this course for?
BTEC First Certificate and BTEC National Certificate The course is unit based, involves in-college theory lessons and assessments. NVQ Certificates
The National Vocational Qualification is unit based, involves in college theory assessments and at-work practical assessments and evidence production. You MUST be vocationally employed and a portfolio of the specified evidence must also be completed. If necessary you will be required to attend lessons in college to acquire the knowledge and skills specified, You MUST achieve the relevant Technical Certificate before competence and NVQ certificates can be awarded.
Physical Ability and Work Activities
You need to be physically fit, capable of operating machines, reading drawings and information and working within a team. You will be using hand tools, equipment and machines which require specialist operating knowledge. You MUST comply with all related Health and safety policies and procedures and accept responsibility for your own actions.
How long is this course for?
College attendance may vary depending on employment status and/or timetable provision but may involve 1 to 2 days/week at college within the academic year.
The full Certificates may take more than one year to achieve.
