Course Duration
Full time: 2 years, 2-3 days per week at Hadlow and 1-2 days work experience from term 2. Part-time: 3 years, 1-2 days per week at Hadlow and 1 day work experience from term 2.

Year 2
  • Equine and human sports science
  • Introduction to research methods
  • Stresses in the sports horse
  • Statistics and experimental design
  • Behaviour and psychology
  • Equine industries work-based learning 2

A choice of:
  • Equine exercise physiology or
  • Equine rehabilitation and therapy

Students are expected to undertake work experience in each year. You will be supported in finding an appropriate placement which will enable you to gain an insight into working life. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take part in a European study tour which is a popular feature of the first year.

Assessment Method
Coursework (written assignments, reports, case studies and presentations) as well as end of unit examinations.

Progression Routes
Successful students can progress onto the BSc (Hons) Equine Science programme. Graduates will also be fully prepared to take up opportunities in nutrition, nutraceuticals, rehabilitation, lecturing, welfare, breeding technology and bloodstock agency.
