PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
The Foundation Degree in Digital Film Production is a culminates in an FdA Degree. Essentially it is a vocational programme that includes assessed work based learning.

The Foundation Degree in Digital Film Production addresses the rapid expansion of filmmaking using digital technology that has now become an integral part of our current television and film industries. This course addresses this new digital age by equipping its students with the complete digital filmmaking skills that are needed to work in these industries. Based at Croydon Higher Education College with its close proximity to London, the course benefits from strong links to the film and television industries through its location and the industry professionals who teach on the course.

We provide you with a supportive practical way of learning, covering the entire digital production process from screenwriting to post production with industry professionals.

By the end of the three year course the students will have the necessary skills required for successful visual storytelling and will have received specialist training in writing, producing and directing both drama and documentary productions. The course offers production or technical specialisation in year 2 where students are given the opportunity to specialise in their chosen production area; producing/directing, camera & lighting, or editing & sound.

Employment related opportunities to the workplace may include; runner, assistant editor, lighting assistant, camera assistant, storyboard artist, and a range of freelance opportunities including producer/director, single camera operator and editor.

Progression opportunities include entry to level 3 of honours degree in Photomedia (digital still and Moving Image)at Croydon Higher Education College.

ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE The department uses a range of assessment methods including the use of visual and verbal presentations, critiques, creative work, reports and essays. Formative assessment provides you with information on your ongoing performance in a module and enables you to reflect and adapt to aid personal development. Summative assessment takes place more formally at the end of a module and is formally recorded on your transcript.
