GCSE LawCourse Outline
The syllabus is designed to provide a basic knowledge of English law. You are also encouraged to use as a resource your own experience of the workings of the legal system and to explore different points of view about specific legal issues

What will I study?
The course comprises of the following topics: English Legal System; Sources of Law; Legal Profession; Freedoms Under the Law; Family Law ? Marriage, Divorce & Wills; Tort ? Negligence, Nuisance, Trespass, Libel & Slander; Contract and Crime.

How will I be assessed?
There are two tiers of assessment - Higher tier A*- D and Foundation tier C ? G. You will sit a one two hour examination worth 80% of the marks and complete one piece of course work worth 20% of the marks.

Career Opportunities & Progression
This qualification is suitable for progression to AS & A level, GNVQ courses and enhances general employment prospects.
