The one-year GCSE in Mathematics is a fast moving and demanding course. It requires commitment through regular attendance matched with two or three hours per week private study time.

Students embarking on the one year GCSE Mathematics course are expected to have obtained a Grade D in GCSE Mathematics or to have equivalent skills. Each student will be assessed for the suitability for the one year GCSE Mathematics by way of initial assessment.

Those students without a Grade D or equivalent skills will be directed onto a course in adult numeracy run by the basic skills area within the College or a more flexible Learn Direct course.

Part time students are advised to limit thier enrolment to just one GCSE course per year to maximise the likelihood of success.
