Is this course right for me?

The NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is designed for experienced care workers who are in a supervisory role in the workplace.

What will I be learning?

The NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care requires you to apply values and principles of good care practice prescribed by organisational policies and procedures. It will also provide you with the opportunity to act as a role model for others in the care setting.

How will I learn?

This is a work based NVQ where learners not only attend workshops at South Devon College but are assessed in the workplace performing real work activities. In addition to observation, there is a range of other methods of assessment such as expert witness observation, professional discussion, accounts and case studies. Assessors will negotiate the most appropriate methods to ensure all requirements are met.

What else might I want to know?

Course fees advertised are for one year only. If you require an assessment visit over a 15 mile radius from South Devon College, a further fee will be payable.

What can I do afterwards?

Achieving an NVQ will enhance your opportunities to develop a career in Health and Social Care. NVQs are nationally recognised and are a minimum requirement to work in most Health and Social Care settings. On successful completion of the Level 3 you may wish to continue your study and apply for a plave on the NVQ 4 or Foundation Degre in Healthcare Practice at South Devon College.
