Course Description
The HNC is a two-year part-time course which is part of the Business Undergraduate Scheme. Learners study for qualifications awarded by the University of Glamorgan and may be able to complete an Honours Degree within 4 years or a Foundation Degree within 3 years. Teaching and learning styles include traditional lectures, seminars and drop-in workshops. An important feature of this course is the provision of telephone tutorials. The course covers all the major aspects of Business Studies including:
Marketing
Economics
Accounting
Personnel Management
Learners may opt to follow routes in Marketing, Accounting and Human Resource Management, if there is sufficient interest. The HND is a one-year part-time conversion course which follows on logically from the HNC. The Foundation Degree is a work-centred part-time qualification allowing learners to earn and learn at the same time. Credits can be gained at work as well as for academic study.
BA (Hons) Degree Part-time evening (TBA) This well-established and vocationally relevant course is franchised from the University of Glamorgan. This will give our learners the opportunity to gain an Honours Degree in Management and Business which will help learners to gain promotion and employment. The course will be an interesting mixture of assessment, examination and dissertation. (Commencement Date September 2008, Subject to Validation)

Career Prospects
The HNC, HND and Foundation Degree courses are part of the University of Glamorgan Degree Scheme. Successful learners enter the final year of the degree programme at the University itself. The awards are also recognised by professional bodies and may provide exemptions from their examinations. Two-thirds of all employment in Wales is in the Management and Business sectors.

Assesment
Most of the modules are assessed through assignments, projects and case studies, which are set at regular intervals. There is a small element of time-constrained assessment which may be of an open book nature.
