Course Content
The HNC Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering award is franchised by the University of Glamorgan. The general aim of this award is to develop the thinking, practical and personal skills of the student to the best of his or her ability. The award will enable students to make a contribution to the Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering profession at senior technician level. The part-time, two year award will also enable students working in the industry to broaden their skills base beyond the horizons of their existing employment and thus enhance their career prospects.

Successful completion of the HNC will qualify students for entry to HND / degree courses in related subjects. Careers that are directly related to this discipline include Mechanical Development Engineer; Mechanical Design Engineer; Production Engineer (Technical Sales). Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineers are employed by the manufacturing industry, service industries, the armed forces and research organisations.
