Course Description: Programme Aims

• provide preparation for a range of technical and management careers in electrical and electronic engineering
• provide specialised studies which are directly relevant to individual vocations and professions in which students are currently working
• provide a local progression route for students from BTEC HNC E/E Eng
• provide a path into a full degree.

Mode of Attendance
One day a week for one year 09:00-20:00 on a Tuesday.

Successful applicants will study 6 BTEC units. Course availability is dependant on viable student numbers.

The student will be internally assessed through assignments and tests. The individual units are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Progression
Students wishing to continue to a BSc Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Derby may be accepted on an individual basis.

Fees:
The cost of the HNC course includes a BTEC Registration Fee (valid for five years). Course fees will cover all tuition, course materials and college administration, apart from books and project costs. Progression to HND requires re-registration with BTEC.
