Course Description
This is a level 2 qualification that includes the full range of routine vehicle fitting procedures. It provides essential knowledge for vehicle fitters working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and fast fit businesses.

It is a learning programme which involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of light vehicles in some of the following:

• Inspecting, repairing and replacing: high performance light vehicle tyres.
• Carrying out light vehicle front wheel alignment
• Inspecting and replacing light vehicle: clutches, exhaust components, suspension dampers, vehicle batteries and braking systems
• Assessing and securing a roadside situation
• Identifying and agreeing customer vehicle needs
• Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.
• Programme/Course Structure
• Candidates must achieve all 3 mandatory units and 4 optional units to achieve the Level 2 Certificate.

Course Entry Requirements
All learners will need to complete an application form and attend an interview prior to enrolling.

• Have passed a level 1 motor vehicle qualification or suitable alternative
• Favourable comments in Progress File or School Report
• Successful completion of an initial assessment of your English and Maths skills.
• Be able to show a good level of mechanical aptitude

Course Progression
On to a level 3 Fast Fit programme, or to a Vehicle Technician course.

Course Career Prospects
Successful completion will assist your progression in your current employment and also widen opportunities within the general motor vehicle environment. Such as franchised dealerships, Independent fast fit centres, National fast fit chains, Independent retail garages.
