If you are thinking of changing career or want to enhance interpersonal skills, especially the ability to listen, then this course may be for you. The Introduction to Counselling Concepts Level II course is aimed at learners who wish to develop an understanding of counselling theory as well developing a range of counselling skills. This ten week course which introduces you to three models of counselling and will equip you with some listening and communication skills which you can use both in the work environment and personal life. Course structure is a mixture of both theory and practical skills undertaken in a supportive atmosphere from the both tutor and fellow learners. This very successful course (as evidenced by learner feedback and success rates) runs for ten weeks.
What will I learn?
The course is based on a Person Centred approach to counselling with a brief introduction to two other theories. You get the opportunity to practice a range of counselling skills, and gain an understanding of counselling in a professional context.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through successfully completing pieces of work, including worksheets, plus one 1500 word externally marked assignment.
What can I do after the course?
After sucessfully completing the Level II courses you can progress onto the Level III Certificate in Counselling Skills.
