The course provides an introduction to how archaeologists find and excavate sites, and use the evidence to provide an understanding of how people lived in the past.
From Boxgrove (half a million years ago) through the hunter gatherers and early farmers of Britain, the Roman occupation and Medieval period to the Industrial Revolution and 20th century defence sites, we will explore the techniques used to investigate them and what has been found.
