This award has been developed in partnership with Sports Coach UK and the awarding body for sport 1st4sport.
The course is designed for candidate assessors who wish to assess candidates undertaking competency based or vocationally related sports qualifications ' previously this was only available through an NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications).This has been endorsed by the UKCC (United Kingdom Coaching Certificate) as an assessor badge to work in coach education.
There are 2 pathways of delivery in obtaining the award:
  • either through attending a programme of training/group workshops at Kingston Maurward College
  • or if experienced in assessing, via accreditation of prior learning through gathering of evidence, observation of performance and on'going support in your own work environment.

What qualifications will I need?
Candidates should be a minimum of 18 years of age and hold an appropriate vocational qualification at least one level above that of the candidates you will be assessing (e.g Level 2 coaching qualification)

What will I be learning about?
  • The Award consists of three units:
  • Principles and practice of assessment
  • Undertake candidate assessments
  • Monitor, review and evaluate progress

Where will it take me?
Qualification recognised within the UKCC (United Kingdom Coaching Certificate) as the base qualification to work with NGB (National Governing Bodies) to be able to assess in coach education awards
