Course content:
Adobe Photoshop is the software of choice for graphic artists, photographers and illustrators the world over. Discover some of its amazing abilities while editing and creating pictures of your own
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Identify and open up photographic files in Adobe Photoshop Elements to work on. To save photographs into prepared folders on the computer.
- Remove blemishes and other objects using the Clone tool.
-) Use a variety of selection tools to copy objects from one photograph to another and from one layer to another.
- Use the Levels controls to alter the contrast of photographs.
- Merge several photographs together to create panoramic scenes.
- Create greeting cards by using photographs and letters together.
- Save photographs using a variety of file formats.
- Burn photographs onto CDs.
- Attach photographs to email messages.
Course Structure:
1) How Adobe Photoshop Elements can help a photographer. 2) Opening and saving photographs in Adobe Photoshop Elements. 3) Using the Clone tool to remove objects in photographs. 4) Using selection tools to alter and copy objects. Using Layers. 5) Merging several photographs together to create panoramic scenes and bracketed exposure shots. 6) Using the Levels controls to alter the contrast of photographs. 7) Altering colours and tinting black and white photographs. 8) Creating greeting cards by combining photographs with letters. 9) Saving photographs in a variety of file formats for different uses. 10) Burning photographs onto CDs. 11) Attaching photographs to email messages and preparing photographs for printing.
Course resources:
Computers and Adobe Photoshop Elements software programme. Students are required to bring their own camera, memory cards, accessories and instruction manuals.
Assessment:
Group and one to one tuition. Constructive advice and problem solving of students' own work.

Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
