WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
The City & Guilds Introduction to Trainer Skills is an ideal qualification for those who train others in organisations.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
The course is based on the training cycle covering:

planning (including session planning)
delivery (participants will deliver a 10 or 15 minute session that they have planned)
evaluation (self, peer group and course evaluation)

The course also covers:

setting ground rules
use of icebreakers
the learning environment
training resources
gaining and maintaining attention
motivation
assessment

WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
This extensive course is usually delivered over two days but may run over a different period if the numbers are sustainable for this. It also provides the participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of a systematic approach to training.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
Upon successful completion of the programme trainers receive a certificate and a City & Guilds credit. Please not that this qualification will not be accredited on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

WHAT WILL IT COST ME?
1b904-09 Course fees 275 16-18 year olds, 275(275) 19 years and over

Course fees are payable on enrolment. Costs shown in brackets are for those on income-based benefits. Refunds are not normally available.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTERWARDS?
Learners completing the Introduction to Training Skills may progress onto the C & G Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) and, subject to a teaching role to CTLLS or PGCE / Cert Ed.

WHAT DO I NEED?
This is an open access course available to anyone who trains others within any organisational setting.
