What Qualification Will I Achieve? Foundation Degree in Learning Support (awarded by University of Greenwich) What Will I Study? The course aims to provide you with a professional development qualification and/or a part-time route to the third year of a degree programme for those with experience in supporting Learning and Teaching. You may be working with learners of any age (including adults) as teaching assistants or learning support assistants. The programme is a balance of both theory and practical application.

Entry Requirements:
You should:
- Hold a relevant Level 3 qualification
- Have appropriate work experience as a Teaching Assistant or a Learning Support Assistant
- Be working with learners a minimum of two sessions per week (i .e. a morning or an afternoon) in either a paid or a voluntary capacity.
Assessment:
Assessment is continuous, based on work-related assignments; there are no exams or timed assessments. You will have at least three months to submit a piece of summatively assessed work. The maximum number of pieces of work you may be working towards at any one time is four. Without exception all of the work, whether classroom-based and formatively assessed or submitted formally at the end of a course, is related to pedagogy and therefore it has a high relevance to professional practice.
Progression Routes:
You are guaranteed entry onto a third year of a compatible degree programme, such as the BA (Hons) in Education Studies or the BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies, at the University of Greenwich on successful completion of the foundation degree.
Career Options:
Gaining a degree will enable you to access the many options that exist to become teacher qualified, including PGCE, QTS, RTP, GTP in either the primary or secondary sectors.
