· Individual Differences
· Research Methods
Students cover such topics as:
· How memory works
· How our early experiences in life may affect us
· What is the nature of stress
· How our behaviour might change when we are with other people
Different explanations of abnormal behaviour
· How psychologists carry out their research
The second year (A2) covers additional topics from the main areas in Psychology, and students apply their knowledge of research methods.

The course lasts 1 year as a full-time student for AS level and 2 years as a full-time student for the full A Level qualification.

At the end of the first year, examinations are taken in May and successful candidates gain the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) award. Successful candidates at AS level may choose to progress to the second year of the course.
