On successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Identify the different factors that contribute towards developing a customer focused, marketing led organization .
- Interpret and use basic marketing terminology .
- Demonstrate an outline knowledge of ICT and its application to marketing .
- Identify the key factors in organisations micro- and macro- environments and describe why and how organisations respond to changes in these factors .
- Explain the factors that can affect customers buying decisions in a range of buying situations .
- Gather and analyse simple data, from primary and secondary sources and communicate the findings .
- Use market information to identify and evaluate potential market segments and justify targeting decisions .
- Apply the marketing mix to optimise demand for products and services .
- Distinguish between effective and ineffective tactics in a range of situations and contexts . In particular, the course will address the following skills:
