Course aims:
This course should enable you to achieve a GCSE in Mathematics. It should also help develop a positive attitude to the subject and an ability to solve problems, to read, write, use, apply and talk about the subject with confidence and enjoyment.
The course helps to promote an appreciation of the place of Mathematics in society, together with the patterns, relationships and interdependence of the variety of strands existent within it. The course should also enable you to acquire a firm foundation in the subject for appropriate further studies.
Course content:
On this course you will
- improve your skills in calculating with numbers, algebra, solving problems using shape, space and measure
- use calculators and computers to enhance understanding of number and geometry
- use statistics to handle and represent data
- learn to use Maths to solve real-life problems from the cost of credit cards to comparing business solutions

Tutors:
The Team Leader for Adult English and Maths and GCSE is Denise McGoochan. Denise is a well qualified and experienced teacher of both English and Maths. All other tutors are fully qualified and used to working with adults.
