Is the course for me?
To develop numeracy skills and the ability to understand and use mathematical information, calculate and solve basic mathematical problems and interpret results and communicate mathematical data. Gaining confidence with numeracy is also a key aim. The course is run on a roll on roll off programme which means as soon as you feel ready to take the exam( after a minimum of 5 weeks ) you may do so and progress onto the next level if you achieve a successful result. At each level you will be able to take up to 12 months to complete if necessary. The advantage of this programme is that individuals can speed up their individual learning capabilities and can progress through the various levels. Alternatively, you have the full 12 months.

What will I learn?
You will read and understand straightforward mathematical information used for different purposes and also complete a variety of tasks and projects at Level 1. There will be plenty of oportunity to complete practice papers before you complete the final assessment.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment of this course takes place when you are ready and consists of a multiple choice test with 40 questions. This can be done as a paper based assessment or online.

What can I do after the course?
Progress to a certificate in Adult Numeracy Level 2
