Is the course for me?
You will be able to perform a competent Manicure, Pedicure, False Nails, Nail Art. The new 'Academy' includes brand new, state of the art equipment, including sun spray tan, nail bar, beauty and hair salons providing you with the very best learning environment to develop your skills. What will I learn?
The qualification is aimed at people who aspire to become nail technicians. This is second qualification, leading to other qualification at level 3. Level 2 Nail Services-qualification stucture, Mandatory units: G1 Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety; G6 promote additional products or services to clients; G8 Develop and maintain your effectiveness; BT7 Provide Manicure treatment; BT8 Provide Pedicure treatment BT44 Extend and maintain nails; BT13 Provide nail art services (Supported by HABIA, the Sector Skills Organisation for beauty services). The Beauty & Holistic Department offers a full Virtual Learning environment for all students to access from home should they wish to do so. This will be an invaluable tool for all learners across the section to guide through course schemes, assessment tracking and discussion forum. Attendance for all sessions is a major requirement, failure to comply may affect your achievement!

How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed via the following methods: end of unit tests; anatomy and employment standards assignment; submission of a portfolio. Each Unit will have an assignment and examination.

What can I do after the course?
You may wish to undertake further programmes such as the NVQ Beauty Therapy or Level 3 Nail services. You will learn in our state of the art Academy, the centre which has provided regional and national nail competition award winners from 2005 to 2009!
