Course Description
This award is structured so the candidate will achieve 4 mandatory units plus 4 optional units. The selection of optional units is based on discussions between the candidate, their senior manager and assessor. The course is based on theoretical assessments as well as practical assessments. Holistic workplace assessment is essential requirement for this programme and these are carried out by a qualified and vocationally competent assessor at the college.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must be working in the care sector and working within full/part time work. The candidate must have been in employment for at least 12 months. Candidates must be working in a supervisory role and undertake responsibilities within their job role. Candidates must also provide evidence of ongoing training and development.

Assessment Methods
Work based observations, expert witness statements, witness testimony, reports, professional discussions, written/oral questioning and personal statements.
