The course is particularly relevant for learners seeking employment or interested in progressing towards self employment in the trade. The course includes two distinct areas of study i.e. body repair and paint (refinishing). Allowing learners to subsequently choose which specialist subject they prefer for future study.
The course is supplemented by the opportunity for those learners who require to upgrade their Core Skills. Completion of these units contribute to achievements of the Modern Apprentice qualification.
Both course options are also available on a day release basis for body and refinishing. The VRQ qualification is principally for those not in employment and practical assessment is done with the college.
The SVQ course is for employed learners and consists of day release attendance and work placed assessment as in the VRQ. The inclusion of core skills provision allows a learner to achieve the Modern Apprenticeship Award.
