Course Details

The course introduces the concepts of Lean manufacturing and is for employees who have a very good competence level in manufacturing and are responsible for making day to day decisions. The qualification is delivered on site, with an assigned trainer consultant who, coordinates training and assessment of knowledge, evidence and observation. Through the candidates own experience, improvements are identified and small work based projects are applied to demonstrate application. A portfolio of evidence and a knowledge base is built to show competence to the awards national standards. The programme delivery is flexible dependant upon the needs of the employer and the individual but can take 4 to 12 months Benefits to the learner include: Gaining a nationally recognised certificate of achievement (NVQ Level 3 is equivalent to an A Level). Recognition of the skills you have gained and a way of using your skills to make actual, valued improvements to the company. Gives valued working experience with Lean Manufacturing Techniques. Benefits to the employer include: Training and assessment to a national recognised standard (NVQ Level 3). Emphasis on company business plan goals in order to make reductions in health & Safety issues and waste as well as improvements to production output and efficiencies. The course if backed by the government and the National Skills Academy for Manufacturing (NSAM).

Progression:
On completion of the programme candidates may progress to the NVQ Level 4 if they so wish.
