Who is this course for?

This course provides a recognised qualification for those working in the health and social care sector as senior care workers, senior day care workers, or other roles with similar responsibilities. To achieve the qualification the candidate must complete four mandatory and four optional units.

The four mandatory units include: promote effective communication for and about individuals, promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment, reflect on and develop your practice.

This qualification is well recognised for employment with Health and Social Services Trusts, and there are also good employment opportunities within voluntary and private care organisations. Candidates can take additional units as part of continuing professional development. They can also progress onto the HNC/HND Care Practice to achieve a higher level qualification. Also they can progress onto the Level 4 Leadership and Management in Care Services.

How long is this course for?
1 extended evening per week over 35 weeks (Armagh, Banbridge, and Newry), 1 day per week 35 weeks (Newry Campus).
