ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 24 to be eligible for funding and have completed their Apprenticeship in Heating and Ventilation Installation.

Applicants should have reached a reasonable standard of education and possess the necessary motivation, commitment to study and awareness of the demand of the programme. All applicants will be required to attend an interview and undertake an initial assessment.

PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
The programme of learning is based on units leading to accreditation of competence and covers areas such as:

Maintaining Safe Working Environment;
Maintaining Effective Working Relationships;
Contribute to the Improvement of Business Products & Services;
Plan Heating & Ventilating Work Activities;
Install Complex Heating & Ventilating Systems
Install Pipework by Welding
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
After the successful completion of the Heating and Ventilation Installation (Pipe Fitter/Welder) Advanced Apprenticeship, Apprentices will gain the following awards:

NVQ Level 3 in Heating and Ventilation Installation;
Heating and Ventilation Technical Certificate (Papers 1 & 2);

There are opportunities to progress on to Higher Programmes of Learning such as HNCs.
ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE Computer based exams for Welding Technology, Technical Certificate Papers, Portfolio completion for NVQ element, Practical Assessments for Welding disciplines
