NVQ in Health & Social Care (Level 2)
Who is this vocational qualification for?
- Employees, self-employed or volunteers.
- Candidates working in areas of health and social care, where the focus is hands-on care, enablement care and the development and maintenance of the service users’ independence.
- Candidates who would usually be delivering care under the supervision of an accountable practitioner, though this person my not always be in the immediate vicinity.
What is this training about?
- Work-based training
- Based on the national occupational standards developed by Skill for Health, TOPSS, Care Council for Wales and the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.
- These are government-approved standards setting bodies for the Health and Social Care Sector.
- A modular course of six units made up of two core units, two optional units. Plus two remaining units from either core, optional or additional groups.
- Optional/additional units can be selected according to an individuals working role.
