Course Description
The course covers all aspects of the Windows XP operating system and leads towards the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician certificate. In addition you will study the modules covering PC hardware maintenance which leads towards the Comptia A+ qualification. The course has a good mix of theoretical and practical elements. Upon completion of the course you will have an excellent understanding of computer hardware and software.

Course Structure
The course covers a range of subjects including:-
  • Troubleshooting Techniques Windows Installation Troubleshooting the Desktop
  • Internet Explorer Networks File sharing & Permissions
  • User Account Management Printers Windows Security
  • Configuring Office 2003 Working with Outlook
These are delivered via lecture-based sessions.

The hardware subject is delivered on a flexible attendance basis with two drop-in workshops available each week. The workshops will be held at The Hub where you will use the Cisco Academy website. You will also have the opportunity to access the website from home.
