Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements; however, learners would benefit from a general level of education at Level 1 (NVQ1/GCSEs grades D-G) or above.

If you have achieved another IT qualificiation (CLAiT, CLAiT Plus, CLAiT Advanced, ECDL Essentials, ECDL Extras or ECDL Advanced, for example) within the past three years, parts or all of these can contribute towards the ITQ.

Suitable For

NVQs are work-related qualifications suitable for those who have current real work experience; they assess someone's competence (skills, knowledge and understanding) in a work situation. ITQs are suitable for individuals who use IT skills in their day-to-day work.

Course Content

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the application of a range of IT user skills and knowledge in the workplace. ITQs allow flexibility and choice and candidates/employers can identify the most appropriate units and level of skills to meet the needs of the candidate/employer/workplace.

To achieve a full OCR Level 3 NVQ for IT Users, a candidate must complete a minimum of 180 unit values, including the mandatory unit. At least 50% of the unit value of the optional units must be achieved at Level 3.

Method of Assessment

Like all NVQs, this qualfication is competence-based. This means that they are linked to a person's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates will be assigned an assessor who will assess their work. Assessment methods include:
