Course Description:
To provide a sound foundation for the development in knowledge and skills in Painting & Decorating .

Content
Following a successful interview, each student will be allocated a place on the course to study practical and theoretical elements of Painting & Decorating.

Assessment and Progression:
The main components of assessments are through the testing of practical skills and the assessment of job knowledge through written tests. The majority of assessment is internal; however the Construction Award requires externally set tests to be taken. Assessment takes place within each element and unit of training throughout the programme. The college is committed to maintaining Records of Achievements and providing appropriate feedback through reviewing and action planning.

Progression
On successful completion students will be eligible to progress to the Intermediate Construction Award which can lead to an NVQ2 in Painting & Decorating. This could be combined with an Apprenticeship via a Training Agency.
