Patisserie and Confectionery: Gold Level (SVQ Level 3)
This intensive programme builds on the skills learned at Patisserie and Confectionery: Silver Level.

During the course your time will be spent in a practical environment where your skills will be developed to a high professional standard. There will be some classroom-based tuition to help develop and widen your understanding of the subject.

Alongside more complex and demanding techniques such as processing chocolate, marzipan, and sugar products, the course will further develop your numeracy, IT and communication skills in keeping with the aptitudes required by a pastry chef in todays modern kitchen. There are, during the course of the academic year, opportunities to develop your skills in competition work.

There are no exams; assessment is continuous, delivered in the classroom and practical environments.

Further Study/Employment
Upon completion of this course you can progress into Higher National programmes or into employment.
